📝 Confidence: Origins & Effects

Dear Greats,

We all understand the power of confidence and its connection to worldly achievement.

But what is it? why do some people have it, whilst others lack it?

To “confide” means to trust in another.

To have confidence then, is to trust in yourself.

Those who trust themselves either have reason for it or delude themselves - it matters not, for the effect is much the same.

Confidence is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Before you then, two paths lie - one called trust in self, the other distrust.

If you seek confidence, you must trust in self, this path will pave your future.

If you require evidence to take the path of trust, you need only look and you will find historic reasons to trust yourself - but beware - what you seek is what you will find.

Those who say they can and those who say they cannot are both right.

Your ability matters less than the trust you have in your abilities. The conviction and thus execution of your actions, will align to the level of trust you embody. Trusting yourself eradicates fear, to eradicate fear is to allow yourself into the world without hesitation or limitation.

Confidence without ability then beats ability without confidence - for no one knows the man that never speaks or does - nor will anyone provide opportunity to him who does not trust himself, no matter his ability.

If you can find no reason to trust yourself then I urge you to delude yourself, for your delusion is reality.

You are the mason of your life so pave the road with trust in self.
